SOPHIE JAMIESON – Album Recording / Sounder Session

Enter the enchanting realm of Sophie Jamieson, a trailblazing artist who holds a special place in the heart of Arcus Sounds as the inaugural artist to grace our studio for recording sessions. Sophie chose Arcus Sounds as the creative space to weave the sonic tapestry of her debut album, ‘Choosing,’ released under the acclaimed Bella Union label.

In a rhythmic symphony, all the drums for ‘Choosing’ found their heartbeat right here at Arcus Sounds, skilfully recorded by our very own Arcus member, Danny. Collaborating with producer Steph Marziano, Danny played a dual role, not just as a drummer but also as a part engineer during the intricate drum recording process. The magic unfolded over the course of a couple of days, capturing five tracks the from Sophie’s musical journey. Notably, the album’s opener, ‘Addition,’ was meticulously tracked live in the room, guitars resonating in harmony.

East London Recording Studio Session

Months later, Sophie returned to Arcus Sounds for another spellbinding moment – a solo session featuring previous works predating her debut album. This intimate session marked a significant milestone for us as it became our inaugural filmed live session. Sophie’s ethereal performance not only showcased her musical prowess but also set the stage for the many captivating live sessions that would follow at Arcus Sounds.

Beyond the Music: Sophie Jamieson

Sophie Jamieson, a singer-songwriter with a penchant for poetic lyricism and haunting melodies, has carved a distinct niche in the indie-folk genre. ‘Choosing,’ her debut album, is a testament to her artistry, offering listeners a glimpse into her soulful exploration of emotions and narratives. As a collaborator with Arcus Sounds, Sophie’s contributions have left an indelible mark on our studio’s history. Her ability to infuse raw emotion into every note resonated beautifully in the creative haven for artists that is our East London recording studio.
